About

Hi, I'm Rose.

Rose Reid, owner of True North Companions dog walking in Newmarket

I'm Rose, and I started True North Companions to do what I do best — care for your pets like family.

I spent over a year as a Pet Care Professional with one of York Region's largest established dog walking and pet sitting companies, working across Newmarket and Aurora. In that time I walked, fed, and looked after dogs of every breed and size, plus cats and small companions, in homes all over our community. I learned what a great visit looks like — calm energy, real attention, on time every time, and the small touches that make a pet (and their human) feel cared for.

Now I run True North Companions on my own, on purpose. A small client list means your dog is never one of ten on a group walk — they get a real outing, a real check-in, and the steady hand they deserve. I'm a Newmarket local, fully insured, and comfortable with senior pets, puppies, medications, anxious dogs, and the quirky ones too.

Pets are family. I treat them that way.

FAQ

Dog walking in Newmarket — common questions

Where do you walk?

Newmarket and Sharon, plus the immediately surrounding neighbourhoods of Holland Landing, East Gwillimbury and Aurora. Get in touch and I'll confirm whether your address fits my regular route.

Are you insured?

Yes. I'm fully insured for pet care. Documentation is available on request before your first booking.

Do you care for cats and other animals?

Yes. In-home drop-in visits in Newmarket and surrounding areas work especially well for cats and small or exotic pets — they stay happy in their own environment while you're away.

What if my dog has special needs?

I welcome pets with medication routines, mobility limitations, anxiety, reactivity, or anything else that makes them, well, them. We'll talk through it at the meet & greet so we can build the right plan.

How do I book a dog walker in Newmarket?

Start with a free meet & greet using the contact form below, or call/text. We'll talk about your pet and your routine, then we get you on the schedule.

Do you walk multiple dogs together?

Only if they already know and like each other (siblings or close friends), and never more than two. Most walks are one-on-one.
